Community Outreach Projects

From time to time we reach out to our community to help with whatever needs we might find.  In May 2010 we volunteered to partner with the Picture Rocks Garden Club and the Picture Rocks Borough to create new flower beds at the entrance to the enclosed pavillion in the Van Rensalaer Park near the elementary school.  We planted flowers, cleaned up the volleyball pit, added dirt to the horseshoe pits and just looked for places we could help.  In three hours we had accomplished so much!  We want to serve the community that supports us!

In the fall of 2011 an outreach project found us!  We rallied our congregation to more than 30 residences helping the community to clean up and recover from the September 7th flood that wreaked havoc on the area.  Pumping out water, carrying possessions out of basements, shoveling mud, bleaching and cleaning basements, hauling debris to the municipal dumpsters, cutting up trees, ...if it was flood-related, we were there, filling whatever needs we could, making a difference in the lives of friends and neighbors all over the valley.

May of 2013 found us helping some of our neighbors who had experienced a house fire to clean up their kitchen area and begin to rebuild.

Spring of 2015 found us helping to add a 1st floor bathroom so a local widow can remain in her home with family instead of a nursing facility.

2017 found us rebuilding a porch in Williamsport for another non profit service agency.

What will 2018 hold?  Help us decide.  Join us on May 12th as we gather to compare ideas at 9 am in the Fireside Room.
